I'm curious to hear other users predictions on how much and how fast the robot industry will grow in the next 12 months. If anyone has statistics to back up their predictions, so much the better.

In a recent article, Dan
In a recent article, Dan Kara, Conference Chair and President of Robotics Trends, estimated that the total wealth of the robotics industry would reach $24.9 billion by 2010, with the largest growth coming in home service robotics.
Manufacturing will continue to control a $5-$7 billion share of the market, but almost all of that will come from replacing current models with new upgrades, rather than real expansion of markets.
Public service and medical robots will round out the largest slices of the robotic pie. The real hitter comes when you consider his predictions for the year 2025. He predicts a $66.4 billion market in robotics. That's growth of over 266% in only 15 years. And keep in mind that this is industry average, specific companies within robotics could well reap returns far above and beyond this already staggering prediction.
Home robotics will
Home robotics will definitely dominate the robotic market within the next decade, however health care and personal assistance robotics will also be able to generate an inordinate amount of revenue.
The Da Vinci surgery system is only the beginning of a robotic health care industry that some analysts are predicting will reach $12.7 billion in sales annually by 2015.
I'm sorry Master Luke, I can't. It is against my programming to impersonate a deity.
C3PO, Episode VI, Return of the Jedi.
