Art & Robotics Group
Between 1996 and 2001, several projects were done under the auspices of the Art & Robotics Group, a collective of about thirty artists in Toronto, Canada. Those projects are documented in these pages. The ARG-list mailing list is still active, and now has over 150 members from all over the world. It's an excellent place to discuss art and its relationship with electronics, kinetics, and related subjects.
Although there are (currently) no plans for new projects under the ARG banner, there is a lot of activity in this field, in Toronto and particularly at InterAccess, the main sponsor of ARG. InterAccess has recently completed a major renovation of its members' studio, including a well-equipped electronics lab with technical support. It has also integrated new electronics projects and events in its programming calendar, the AID project being a prime example.
Joining the ARG-list is a good way to stay informed about what's happening, and you can browse the www.interaccess.org website for more information about their projects.
