UNR Professor to Develop Socially Interactive Robot

University of Nevada School of Medicine internal medicine professor Philip H. Goodman, M.D., M.S. was recently awarded a $283,000 grant from the Department of Defense to develop a socially interactive robot whose "brain" uses computer-simulated but biologically realistic spiking nerve cells.

Robots Might Benefit from Sleep, Too

In his recent paper What Do Robots Dream Of, Dr. Adami, Professor of Applied Life Sciences at the Keck Graduate Institute, speculates that a robot might benefit from some "down time" just like people do.
